Yakitori

Yakitori is chicken that has been cut into bite-sized pieces, skewered and grilled over an open flame.
There are also yakitori with sweet sauce and yakitori seasoned with salt and pepper.

INGREDIENTS

  • Chicken thigh : 200g
  • Green onion : 1
  • Sake : 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce : 1 tablespoon
  • Mirin : 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar : 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil : Appropriate amount

RECIPE

  1. Cut the chicken and green onions into bite-sized pieces and skewer them alternately.
  2. Spread oil on a frying pan and brown both sides.
  3. Add sake, cover and steam.
  4. Take out the yakitori, put soy sauce, mirin and sugar in a frying pan and bring it to a boil.
  5. Put the yakitori back in the frying pan and mix it with the sauce to complete.

SUPPLEMENT

When making it at home, it is generally cooked in a frying pan, but if you can grill it over an open flame, please use it.
In Japan, it is often eaten with salt and pepper instead of sauce.
Also, pork belly may be used instead of chicken, or different parts of the chicken may be cooked.
